Tuition costs related to obtaining a two-year degree in an aerospace or aviation-related program within the Alabama Community College System. These institutions train students across several career paths certified by both the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

Grant recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.50 and carry a semester course load sufficient to assure graduation in six or less consecutive semesters. Failure of a grant recipient to meet the eligibility requirements in any given semester will result in immediate termination of the grant.
Grant applications can be obtained at www.plrairport.com/scholarship-application. Applications should be returned no later than June 30th, in the year prior to which the applicant would propose to begin coursework in January.
Grant applications will be reviewed by designated members of the St. Clair County Airport Authority for selection for award. Grants are awarded annually at the St. Clair County Airport’s Aviation Career Day held on the second Saturday of October. Successful applicants will be notified of an intent to award no later than the 1st week in August. Applicants must be present at the time of the award to receive the grant. It will be the responsibility of the successful applicant to gain acceptance to the institution and course of study chosen prior to the grant being awarded.

ST. CLAIR COUNTY AIRPORT GRANT FUND
In an effort to promote aviation in St. Clair County and the State of Alabama, the St. Clair County Airport (PLR), located in Pell City, is establishing a grant fund to provide scholarships to deserving individuals for the purpose of earning a degree in aerospace or an aviation-related field from an accredited institution within the Alabama Community College System.
